Why the diversification?

So, this blog has been a long time coming. I’ve been umming and ahhing over it for ages and ages. It’s only really because of my friends and family that I’ve decided to make it a thing. Yep, BakedByH (BBH) is diversifying. A beauty blog. I know what you’re thinking… Um why pls? Yeah, I don’t know guys, honestly.  I just have a lot of products and a lot of people ask me about make up allll the time, so I wanted everything to be in one place. I am not a makeup artist. I am a normal gal with a lot of ‘trendy’ makeup who will provide honest reviews and advice on what works for different skin tones. I like the angle of ‘skin tone’ – it took me ages and ages to figure this whole ‘tone’ world out, and I finally think I’ve cracked it. Luckily for you guys, I have a pretty odd skin tone that can adapt to quite a lot of different shades. This is pretty useful as women of colour often struggle to find products that complement our tones. This wing of BBH (aka BBHb) will hopefully provide a little assistance in the area and show you what looks good on Asian skin. I’ll include undertones and colour matching where applicable. You guys know what I mean about ‘trendy’ makeup, right? The Instagram stuff, the American brands, the new shiny stuff? I’ve been carefully curating my makeup collection for a couple of years and it’s overwhelmingly American. This has become much easier to source since websites such as BeautyBay and CultBeauty have started stocking these brands. Before this, it was taxes, shipping and customs. Three words that I dreaded to hear.

There’s no shortage of beauty bloggers these days – everyone who can wing their liner seems to be starting a blog or a YT channel. This is good – it encourages creativity, but it’s not my angle. I just want this blog to be something you check for swatches and reviews before clicking ‘Confirm Order’ online! This blog will feature swatches and reviews of different products. It will focus around makeup but every so often, I’ll throw a skincare post in for a bit of variety.
